Centralized Conferencing using SIP
نویسندگان
چکیده
Multiparty conferencing is an important telephony service, provided in the PSTN by conference bridges. Internet telephony can enhance this basic service by video conferencing and collaborative work. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) can support many different conferencing architectures, including the centralized conferencing server model. We describe design issues and challenges in implementing a SIP-based centralized conferencing server and discuss the architecture and performance of our implementation, sipconf. Keywords— Centralized conference server; dial-in conference bridge; SIP; RTP mixer; packet audio; packet video; Internet telephony; sipconf

Optimization of Signaling Traffic in Centralized Conferences using SIP
Multiparty conferencing is becoming an important topic in the next generation networks. An essential part of multiparty conferencing is the signaling protocol, which has to establish, modify, update and terminate conferencing sessions. This paper focuses on signaling for closed centralized conferencing using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and proposes an approach that achieves an optimizatio...
متن کاملRFC 5239 Centralized Conferencing Framework
This document defines the framework for Centralized Conferencing. The framework allows participants using various call signaling protocols, such as SIP, H.323, Jabber, Q.931 or ISDN User Part (ISUP), to exchange media in a centralized unicast conference. The Centralized Conferencing Framework defines logical entities and naming conventions. The framework also outlines a set of conferencing prot...
متن کاملA Comparison of Multimedia Conferencing Frameworks
Multimedia conferencing has been an important topic in recent years, because of the urgent requirement of high quality multi-party communications. There are various conferencing frameworks using different methods: H.323-based conferencing has already applied in use; SIP-based conferencing is emerging in market gradually. While centralized conferencing is becoming mature, distributed conferencin...
متن کاملRFC 7082 Conference Focus Support for CCMP December 2013
The Centralized Conferencing Manipulation Protocol (CCMP) document (RFC 6503) defines a way for a client to discover a conference control server that supports CCMP. However, it does not define a way for a client involved in a conference to determine if the conference focus supports CCMP. This information would allow a CCMP-enabled client that joins a conference using SIP to also register for th...
متن کاملA Cluster-Based Collaboration Framework for SIP Conference Applications
Multimedia conferencing is a communication service to approach multi-party, real-time, interactive and multimedia applications. Due to mature Internet technologies and ubiquitous network access services, more and more Internet applications about real-time multimedia conferencing are used. In the current conferencing systems, the media processing in centralized mixer servers is the system bottle...
